Greg Berman Fellows 1993 and Melissa Román Burch LNY 18 recently joined the Coro Board of Directors.

Marley Kaplan LNY 10 received the Lewis Hine Distinguished Service Award. The award honors individuals who, either as professionals or volunteers, give of themselves and go the extra mile for the well-being of young people. Ms. Kaplan was honored for her work as President and CEO of Chess in the Schools. Chess in the Schools teaches chess to 13,000 students every year inside New York public schools, provides complementary SAT preparatory courses, and mentoring for at-risk high school students to graduate on time and go to college.

Erica Groshen LNY 18 was nominated by President Obama as the new Commissioner of Labor Statistics for the Department of Labor.

Helen Rosenthal LNY 12 and candidate for City Council will have a West Side Kickoff Event on March 7th, 6:30pm-8:00pm at 225 West 83rd Street. Kathy Choi Fellows 2003 is excited to announce she is expecting her first child, a boy, in June. Kathy is currently working on a documentary about the LA Riots, as 2012 marks the 20 year anniversary of the events.

Helene Blieberg LNY 14 recently began serving as the Interim Executive Director at Ballet Hispanico. You can read more about her organization here.

Dirk Smillie Fellows 1990 after a ten year career as a senior writer at Forbes has recently joined Guggenheim Partners, a global financial advisory group, as their first Chief Content Officer. His book "Falwell Inc." has been translated into two languages.

Jennifer Wright Cook LNY 21 and Executive Director of The Field was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal for a choreographers' scholarship fund her organization has launched. You can read the article here.

Jesse Taylor ICLP 2007 is the managing director of Headspace Mid-North Coast in Coffs Harbour, Australia. He was recently featured on the website: The Most Interesting Person I Know.

Coalition for Asian American Families, run by Wayne Ho ICLP 2005 and Coro Board of Directors member, recently released a major new report entitled: "We're Not Even Allowed to Ask for Help": Debunking the Myth of the Model Minority.

Lisa Hines-Johnson LNY 19 has begun a new role as the Chief Operating Officer of the Food Bank For New York City. Overseeing operations, human resources, IT, and food distribution which includes the 90,000 sq foot warehouse in the Hunts Point Market and the Community Kitchen and Food Pantry in West Harlem.
