Coro Alumni Award Winner Jill Eisenhard LNY 21

Coro New York is proud to announce that the 2012 recipient of the Alumni Award for Civic Leadership is Jill Eisenhard, Executive Director of the Red Hook Initiative and an alumna of Leadership New York 21. Past winners of this award include Greg Berman (Fellows 1993) of the Center for Court Innovation and Jessamyn Waldman Rodriguez (ICLP 2007) and founder of the Hot Bread Kitchen.

Ms. Eisenhard was thrilled but surprised to find out she had won the award.

"Knowing how many great things are being done by Coro alumni in NYC made it even more special to be honored in this way." she said.

The Red Hook Initiative was created to channel positive momentum from community members to improve the quality of life for Red Hook's residents and the community at large. It works to confront and affect the consequences of intergenerational poverty by providing support in the areas of education, employment, health, and community development.

"Doing community-based work is extremely challenging," Jill said about her work. "It's a really unique place to be in, there is unlimited potential of what is possible when you are on the ground in a community doing social change work."

The Coro Civic Awards Dinner will be held on May 17th at Gotham Hall. In addition to Jill Eisenhard we will be honoring: William J. Bratton, Chairman, Kroll; Christopher J. Williams, Chairman and CEO, The Williams Capital Group, L.P.; and Susan Feldman, President and Artistic Director, St. Ann's Warehouse. Tickets can be purchased here.
