Carlos Menchaca NY Fellows 2004 and Helen Rosenthal LNY 12 both won their respective primary elections for New York City Council last Tuesday.
Cordelia Persen LNY 21 recently became Deputy Director of the Center for an Urban Future. Cordelia was previously the Executive Director of Princeton in Africa.
Aaron Miller LNY 16 recently founded BRANCH - Building Regional Alliances to Nurture Child Health - a nonprofit whose mission is to empower communities in low-income countries to improve child health and safety. Their kickoff fundraiser is October 9, 6-8pm, at the Bonobos Guideshop in Soho. Check out the BRANCH website.
Jill Borreo LNY 21 had a baby boy, Oscar Atticus, the morning of August 19th.
Kevin Kong NL 2011 has left his position at Renaissance Economic Development Corporation and will be moving to China to lead a micro-finance company in Beijing.
Felicia Tunnah NL 2013 has recently been named the new Executive Director of the Jamaica Center Business Improvement District. Felicia was formerly the Director of Economic Development and Special Projects at the Union Square Partnership.
Graham Lake and Elizabeth Wilkins NY Fellows 2006 were married August 24th. Their entire Fellows cohort gathered from around the country to attend this important event.
Ligia Guallpa ICLP 2011 and her organization Workers Justice Project were featured in an article by Aljazeera America, detailing the important work that immigrant laborers are contributing to help rebuild after hurricane Sandy. Click here to read the article.
Dean D. Oliver NY Fellows 2013 was recently hired by Wells Fargo as a financial analyst for their community lending and investment department.
Mark Foggin LNY 17, Celeste Frye LNY 17, and Scott Zucker LNY 12 were featured in an article by Forbes focusing on their business partnership at Public Works Consulting. Dan Miner NL 2012 has recently left his position at Long Island City Partnership. Dan is now the district manager of Manhattan Community Board 6.
Blaise Backer NL 2011 and Tim Tompkins NY Fellows 1987 were elected to serve as co-chair of the New York City BID Association.
